Repair as an Ode to the Unearthed

We are pleased to announce the opening of our final exhibition for the year:
"Frederick Ebenezer Okai: Repair as an Ode to the Unearthed", curated by N’Goné Fall. This exhibition forms part of the series of exhibitions marking our 20th Anniversary Celebration.

Frederick Okai is one of Ghana’s outstanding contemporary ceramic artists. Drawing from long-standing ceramic traditions across Ghana and West Africa, his practice explores the relationship between heritage, memory, material, and contemporary expression.

Working with clay, Okai reimagines inherited forms and techniques, transforming them into sculptures that carry both the traces of cultural knowledge and possibilities for new ways of seeing. His work honours traditions while challenging them to evolve, asking what it means to preserve, repair, and remake what we inherit.
